Dr. Nelson is leading efforts to standardize dermoscopy education across the state of Texas through the MD Anderson Project ECHO Oncology Superhub, as supported by the MD Anderson Melanoma Moonshot Prevent Platform and the Cancer Prevention and Control Platform. Dr. Nelson initiated and organized the Dermatology: Early Melanoma Detection (DERM: EMD) program, securing participation from the majority of Texas and Missouri-based dermatology residency programs in monthly peer-reviewed video-conference based dermoscopy education, averaging 85 participants per session in the 2017-2018 curriculum year.
