Keith Rome is an Adjunct Professor of Podiatry at AUT University, New Zealand. Keith qualified as a podiatrist in 1979 and has nearly 30 years of experience in education and 25 years in research. His research focus is on long-term chronic foot conditions, specifically relating to gout and rheumatoid arthritis. He collaborated with rheumatologists and clinicians in New Zealand, the USA, Singapore, and the UK. Since 2009, he has been the Co-Director of the Health & Rehabilitation Research Institute in the Faculty of Health and Environmental Sciences. In 2008, Keith was awarded a fellowship from the Society of Podiatrists for his contribution to podiatric research. In 2016 was appointed as a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons and Physicians (Glasgow). Keith has published over 150 peer-reviewed journal articles. Keith has supervised 15 Ph.D. students on a range of projects relating to foot and inflammatory arthritis. He has recently published a textbook ‘Management of chronic conditions in the foot and a lower leg’. Keith is editor-in,-chief Journal of Foot and Ankle Research.
