Keith Josephs MD

Dr. Keith Anthony Josephs completed his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in mathematics from the University of Florida and a medical degree from the Medical College of Pennsylvania. After completing his residency in neurology, a movement disorders fellowship at Mayo Clinic, and a fellowship in degenerative neuropathology and dementia at University College London, he completed a second master’s degree in clinical and translational research. He was appointed Professor of Neurology in 2011, Clinician Investigator in 2016, and the Ani Professor of Alzheimer’s Disease Research in 2020. He is an active fellow of the American Academy of Neurology and an active member of the American Neurological Association and the American Association of Neuropathology. Dr. Josephs is internationally recognized as one of the world’s leading experts in neurodegenerative diseases.

His research focuses on clinicopathological and neuroimaging aspects of frontotemporal dementias and atypical Alzheimer’s disease and parkinsonian phenotypes, and he has over 500 scientific peer-reviewed manuscripts. He is the recipient of several prestigious scientific awards from the American Philosophical Society, Ohio State University, the American Academy of Neurology, the American Federation for Medical Research, the Association for Clinical and Translational Science, and the Alzheimer’s Association. He has given many national and international keynote lectures and has been principal investigator of more than ten NIH-funded R01 grants.
