Kayla D. Stone is a Medical Writer at Six Degrees Medical, Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Kayla Stone joined the MacMaster lab as a postdoctoral associate in January 2020. Before this, Kayla completed a Ph.D. in experimental psychology at Utrecht University (in 2019), as well as a master of science in neuroscience (in 2015) and a bachelor of science in psychology (with honors, in 2013), both at the University of Lethbridge. Currently, she plays a leading role in the launch of the ADAPT (Adolescent Depression And Other Psychiatric Disorders TMS clinic) and FAST (Finding Alternatives to Standard Treatment) programs. These programs aim to investigate the efficacy of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation as an intervention for various pediatric neuropsychiatric conditions. These conditions currently include major depressive disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, and anorexia nervosa. In her spare time, Kayla enjoys hiking, writing, yoga, and spending quality time with her loved ones. She hopes to continue her career in academia, to become an independent academic scientist in the field of psychiatry and/or psychology.
