Dr. Kaushik Bhowmick works as a consultant Intensivist and Anaesthetist in West Suffolk Hospital in Bury St Edmunds in the UK, which is a part of Cambridge University Teaching Hospital. He was awarded “Completing of Certificate in Training” in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care after completing FRCA and FFICM from the Royal College of Anaesthetists and the Faculty of Intensive Care Society, respectively.

With more than 18 years of experience as an Intensivist, he developed a keen interest in the physiological changes that critical illness brings on to various organs and the different modalities in managing them. Point of Care Ultrasound is his passion, and he runs an accredited National Critical Care Echo and Ultrasound course in East of England.

Additionally, he has a keen interest in Human Factors and Ergonomics in healthcare and organizes workshops, simulation training, and seminars at both local and national levels. Being an educationist, he is the Programme Director for the Foundation Doctors in his Institute since 2018, ensuring appropriate nurturing of the new doctors.
