Katja Zeppenfeld MD, PhD

Katja Zeppenfeld is a board-certified cardiologist, full professor in clinical cardiac electrophysiology, head of the clinical electrophysiology unit of the Heart Center Leiden, and specialized in the treatment of cardiac arrhythmias.

Katja Zeppenfeld With a background in basic neuron electrophysiology, several research fellowships in Germany, the United Kingdom, and the United States of America, and her vast clinical experience, she performs an important "bridging" function between the fundamental and applied research in our department. This involves both the translation of basic research findings into clinical practice as well as the tackling of clinical problems by way of basic research.
