Dr. Kate Guyton is a Senior Program Officer at the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine. Dr. Guyton received her scientific training in the United States. She earned her BA (cum laude) and her Ph.D. degrees from Johns Hopkins University, and she completed postdoctoral training at the National Institutes of Health. Dr. Guyton has been certified as a Diplomate of the American Board of Toxicology since 1998. Prior to joining IARC, she worked for the United States Environmental Protection Agency (2005-2014), receiving a Gold Medal for exceptional service. She also has the experience, as the Director of Scientific Affairs at CCS Associates (1998- 2005), working with the United States National Cancer Institute. Dr. Guyton has authored more than 50 scientific publications in her area of expertise.
