Kathryn is the Deputy Director of NETS NSW Australia. She has worked in neonatal and paediatric retrieval for the past decade and has recently finalized her Ph.D. study on Neonatal Ultrasound in Transport. She also runs a high-fidelity Advanced Neonatal Simulation Stabilisation course for transport teams, aimed at getting babies clinically stable for transport. In the near future, Kathryn would like to see the smooth digital transfer of health information across districts to enable better outcomes for babies and children and is working on a number of committees to this end – in transport: communication is key.

In 2011 she worked on an initiative with Dr Andrew Berry in partnership with Variety, the Children’s charity, and the Department of Health to establish a network of cameras across NSW to facilitate live streaming of sick infants and children from referring hospitals resuscitation beds. Today she will be discussing that aspect of NETS NSW and how it has complemented their workflow saving lives.
