Kathleen Victoria Kilway MS, PhD

Kathleen Kiley is the Chair of the Chemistry Department and a Curators Distinguished Teaching Professor. She joined UMKC in 1996. She was a postdoctoral research associate at the University of California, Berkeley, and Faculté des Sciences de St. Jérôme, Marseilles, France. Her research group focuses on two major areas: the synthesis of the monomers, photoinitiation studies, analytical testing, and other related research on biomaterials (i.e., bone cement alternatives) and the design and study of twisted polycyclic aromatic and linear scenes.
