Kate Rowland, MD, MS, FAAFP is originally from Chicago. Prior to joining the faculty at Rush Copley Medical Center, Rowland was on the faculty at Advocate Illinois Masonic, where she was core clinical faculty, director of the inpatient service and curriculum director. She was also faculty at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. Currently, in addition to being core faculty with the residency, Rowland serves as the associate clerkship director for the Rush Medical College primary care clerkship.

Rowland’s professional interests include clinical questions, dissemination of new evidence into practice, and physician and student reflection on their work. Rowland has worked with the Family Physicians Inquiries Network (past member of the Board of Directors and Vice President for Membership) and is on the editorial board for the Journal of Family Practice. She is a frequent lecturer on new information in the medical literature as well as topics of dissemination and diffusion of scientific evidence.

Rowland is board certified in family medicine and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians. She is on the board of directors of the Illinois Academy of Family Physicians.
