Dr. Katherine H. Noe, MD, PhD, is a neurologist, epileptologist, and physician-scientist at Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, Arizona, where she serves as Chair of the Division of Epilepsy and Associate Professor of Neurology. She specializes in the comprehensive care of adults with epilepsy, including medical management, epilepsy surgery evaluation, and advanced device-based therapies for seizure disorders.
Dr. Noe's research focuses on improving outcomes for individuals living with epilepsy through innovations in diagnosis, treatment, quality improvement, and patient safety. Her work examines epilepsy surgery outcomes, neuromodulation and device therapies, women's issues in epilepsy, and the development of strategies to enhance the quality and safety of epilepsy care. She is committed to identifying effective therapies that improve both seizure control and quality of life for patients.
After earning a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from Cornell University, Dr. Noe completed both her MD and PhD in Pathology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. She subsequently completed a neurology residency at Baylor College of Medicine followed by fellowship training in Clinical Neurophysiology and Epilepsy at Mayo Clinic.
An internationally recognized leader in epilepsy care, Dr. Noe is actively involved in the American Epilepsy Society, the American Academy of Neurology, and the International League Against Epilepsy. She has held numerous leadership roles focused on advancing quality, safety, and value in epilepsy care and has received multiple honors, including the Physician of the Year Award from the Epilepsy Foundation of Arizona. Through her clinical practice, research, education, and professional leadership, Dr. Noe continues to advance the field of epilepsy and improve the lives of people affected by seizure disorders.
