Kate Attfield PhD

Kate completed her B.Sc. in Molecular Genetics at Sussex University in 2004, and then studied for her Ph.D. in Cancer Immunology in Southampton, under the supervision of Prof. Aymen Al-Shamkhani. Kate joined Prof. Lars Fugger’s lab in 2008 as a postdoc and has gained expertise in working with several humanized EAE models. Kate has an extensive background in cellular immunology and currently studies the role of MS susceptibility variants, with a specific focus on those related to the immune system. Kate is now a senior postdoc within the lab and is actively involved in several collaborative projects within and outside of the group.
