Dr. Kate Hanneman completed medical school and diagnostic radiology residency at the University of Toronto, a cardiovascular imaging fellowship at Stanford University, and a Master’s degree in Public Health in Epidemiology at Harvard University.

She is an Associate Professor of Medical Imaging at the University of Toronto and a Clinician Scientist at the Toronto General Hospital Research Institute. Her clinical work focuses on cardiac CT and MRI, in addition to chest imaging. She is the author of over 100 peer-reviewed papers and is an Associate Editor with Radiology, Radiology: Cardiothoracic Imaging, the Journal of Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance, and the Canadian Association of Radiologists Journal. She is Co-Chair of the Canadian Association of Radiologists Sustainability Working Group and Vice Chair of RSNA’s Program Planning Committee.

Since her appointment to JDMI in 2015, she has received over $5 million in peer-reviewed grant funding from agencies including CIHR and leads an active research program focused on sustainability and improving health outcomes for patients using cardiac imaging.
