Karyn Baum, MD, MSEd, MHA is a Professor of Medicine and Vice President for System Clinical Operations for MHealth-Fairview. She is also an Adjunct Professor at the School of Public Health. Karyn served in multiple previous roles including the Medical Director of Utilization Management, Associate Chief Medical Officer, and Interim Chief Medical Officer for UMP and the University of Minnesota Medical Center.

At the national level, she served as the senior consultant with the Association of American Medical Colleges in Washington DC, directing their Educating for Quality initiatives nationwide from 2015-2017.

Karyn is the former Associate Chair for Quality at the University of Minnesota. In addition to overseeing the Health Transformation Center at MHealth-Fairview, she teaches quality improvement for the Executive Masters in Healthcare Administration program at Minnesota. Dr. Baum earned her medical degree from the University of Michigan, her Masters of Science in Education from the University of Southern California, and her Master of Healthcare Administration from the University of Minnesota.
