Karvendhan Ramasamy MBBS, MD

Dr. Karvendhan obtained his MBBS from Madras Medical College, Chennai, India in the year 2002. He later obtained his MD (Paediatrics) from the University College of Medical Sciences, University of Delhi, India in 2006. He then went on to complete his DM (Neonatology) from the Institute of Child Health, Madras Medical College, Chennai, India. Dr. Karvendhan's work experience includes as Senior Resident in Paediatrics with University College of Medical Sciences, Delhi, India and later at the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), Pondicherry where he gained extensive experience in neonatal and paediatric intensive care. He last worked with Madras Medical Mission, Chennai as a Consultant Paediatric Neonatologist. Dr. Karvendhan’s special interest includes resuscitation and management of Extreme Low Gestational Age Newborns and their neurodevelopmental follow up, neonatal ventilation- gentle ventilation/ lung protective strategies, optimal nutrition of preterm infants, family centered NICU care. He possesses exceptional clinical skills and can perform perform invasive/noninvasive ventilation of newborn babies, parenteral nutrition long lines, echocardiogram and cranial ultrasound in critically ill babies. He likes interacting with parents and counsels them whenever required. Dr. Karvendhan can communicate fluently in English, Tamil, Hindi and Urdu.
