Karthik Ravi, MD, is an Associate Professor of Medicine and consultant in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He is internationally recognized for his expertise in esophageal disorders, with a clinical and research focus on esophageal motility disorders, achalasia, eosinophilic esophagitis, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), and advanced diagnostic testing for swallowing disorders. Dr. Ravi also serves in leadership roles focused on outpatient practice transformation and community gastroenterology initiatives at Mayo Clinic. 
Dr. Ravi earned his medical degree from Temple University and completed his internal medicine residency, gastroenterology fellowship, and advanced motility fellowship at Mayo Clinic. He also pursued specialized esophageal motility training at McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University. Board-certified in gastroenterology, he has developed extensive expertise in esophageal manometry, reflux testing, and the management of complex motility disorders. 
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Ravi is actively involved in translational research aimed at improving the diagnosis and treatment of esophageal diseases. His investigations include opioid-induced esophageal dysfunction, novel approaches to evaluating eosinophilic esophagitis, and innovations in esophageal motility testing. A highly regarded educator and lecturer, he has received multiple teaching and clinical excellence awards and has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications in the field of gastroenterology and esophageal disease.
