Dr. Karine Lortie is an assistant professor with the University of Ottawa's Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She holds the position of Postgraduate medical education Residency Program Director at her institution and is also the APOG PGME Chair for Program Directors across Canada.

She is the Director of Surgical Education within her department and is the clinical lead in gynecology simulation at the University of Ottawa Skills and Simulation Centre. She is also the Minimally invasive gynecology AAGL recognized cofellowship director.

Upon completion of her medical training at the University of Ottawa (MD 2003, FRCSC 2008), she completed residency at the University of Saskatchewan and Ottawa and a fellowship in minimally invasive gynecology, endoscopic surgery and urogynecology (2008-2009) with Regina General Hospital and the University of Saskatchewan. She also completed the APGO Academic Scholars and Leaders education program in 2013 as well as the Senior LHIN Leadership course with The Ottawa Hospital.
