Dr. Karina M. Berg, MD, MS, is an Associate Professor of Medicine and a core clinical faculty member at the UConn Center on Aging at UConn Health in Farmington, Connecticut, where she provides expert care in geriatric medicine and memory disorders. She earned her Bachelor of Science in History of Medicine from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, her medical degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook School of Medicine, and a Master of Science in Clinical Research Methods from Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

Dr. Berg completed her internship and residency in primary care internal medicine at Montefiore Medical Center and a fellowship in geriatrics at Yale University School of Medicine. Board-certified in internal medicine and geriatrics, she has long focused on the care of older adults, including cognitive changes, dementia, medication adherence, caregiver support, and safe medication deprescribing. In addition to her clinical work, she is actively involved in research and scholarly activities, contributing to peer-reviewed publications on aging, health services, and clinical outcomes, and participates in advisory committees and professional organizations aimed at improving the health and quality of life of older adults. Dr. Berg’s leadership and expertise have been recognized in initiatives across clinical care, education, and aging research.
