Karin Parramore has been interested in herbal medicine her entire life and purchased her first book on herbal medicine at age seven. After a life of studying, she realized she could actually be an herbalist and obtained Chartered Herbalist status from Dominion Herbal College in 2001. In addition, she has been a practicing aromatherapist since 2002. Karin graduated from the National University of Natural Medicine (NUNM) in 2012 with a Master of Science in Oriental Medicine and is licensed to practice acupuncture and Chinese Medicine. Karin formerly served as teaching assistant to Dr. Heiner Fruehauf, founder of the Classical Chinese Medicine program at NUNM, for six years, and she currently serves as full-time faculty at Ashford University in the Bachelor of Arts in Complementary and Alternative Health (BACAH) program, in addition to her work with ACHS. Karin previously served as adjunct faculty at the East West College of the Healing Arts teaching Pathology and adjunct faculty at NUNM teaching Cosmology and Symbolism, Aromatherapy and Chinese Medicine, Facial Acupuncture and Aromatherapy, and Imaginal and Experiential Inquiry.

She has taught aromatherapy at NUNM and the Helfgott Research Institute, as well as offering classes to the public from her clinic, Good Life Medicine Center. Karin sold the clinic in 2014 to focus on teaching and writing. Karin’s core teaching philosophy revolves around finding where the teacher and student can connect to shape the material to maximize learning. As connecting with others is Karin's strongest skill, her students regularly share how easily they are able to absorb the information in her classes. Karin’s interests include music and dance, traveling the world, and building tiny houses.
