Karen Murrell, MD, MBA, Assistant Physician in Chief for Process Improvement and Optimization, Kaiser South Sacramento, and Chief of Emergency Medicine at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center, has more than 36 years of experience in a variety of roles in hospital and emergency department management and practice. At KP, Dr. Murrell has focused on taking innovative approaches to patient flow in both the emergency department and the inpatient hospital and using Lean methodology to improve departmental flow.
