Karen E. Crowley, DDS, is an oral and maxillofacial surgeon in private practice in southern New Hampshire. After receiving her dental degree from Georgetown, she attended the general practice residency at the University of Vermont, and then entered the oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at Boston University.

She has taken a particular interest in office anesthesia, and is the Past President of the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology. She is chair of the Patient Safety task force of the Foundation of the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology. As part of the Working Group of the ADSA Foundation working for the ADA Foundation, she helped develop the ADA course, Managing Sedation Complications. She is actively engaged in human simulation education for dentists delivering office sedation and anesthesia. She is the Chair of the Anesthesia and Sedation Evaluation Committee of the New Hampshire Board of Dental Examiners. She has written numerous articles and reviews on the topics of medical management of the oral and maxillofacial surgery patient and in-office anesthesia in the oral and maxillofacial surgery office.
