Venugopal K. Menon MBBS, MS, MCh, MSc

Dr. Venugopal K. Menon graduated from the Armed Forces Medical College in India in 1979. After a 5-year stint in the Indian Army Medical Corps, he took his master's in Orthopaedic Surgery from the same institution. He was trained in the reputed Spine center at Military Hospital, Kirkee, Pune. He subsequently trained in the UK and acquired the MCh degree from Liverpool University in 1992. He underwent AO fellowship training at Zurich University Hospital and also visited many premier Spine Centers in Europe including Edinburgh (Princess Margaret Rose hospital), St Gallen (Canton Hospital), Berck Sur Mer (Institut Calot) returning to India. He holds a Masters's degree in Orthopaedic Engineering from Cardiff University, UK. 

Dr. Menon was the Chairman and Head of the Dept. and Clinical Professor of Orthopaedics and Consultant in Spine Surgery at Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Center, Kochi, India. He moved to the Sultanate of Oman in 2010 and was instrumental in setting up a state-of-the-art Spine Service at Khoula Hospital under the Ministry of Health where he works as a Sr. Consultant in Orthopaedics. He is also the Past Chairman of AOSpine Asia-Pacific.
