Jute Richter graduated as a medical doctor at the KU Leuven magna cum laude (2008). She finished her specialisation in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in January 2016. During her specialisation and PhD, she worked as a fellow in foetal surgery (2010-2014) at the University Hospitals of Leuven.
In 2015, she obtained her PhD degree in Biomedical Sciences, with a doctoral thesis entitled ‘Perinatal interventions to prevent bronchopulmonary dysplasia in a preterm rabbit model’.
She started working as a staff member of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University Hospitals Leuven in January 2016.
Her clinical interests are general obstetrics and prenatal routine screening as well as diagnosis of congenital malformations. Her research focus includes congenital infections and the peripartum use of ultrasound to guide labour and delivery.
