Dr. Justine Baron received her MSc in Health Promotion and Psychology at the University of Nottingham, and her PhD in Health Psychology at University College London, both in the United Kingdom. She moved to Canada to embark on a postdoctoral fellowship in the Clinical Epidemiology Program at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute.

Her training so far covers a spectrum of health research in the fields of chronic illness self-management and behavior change, from telehealth for diabetes in graduate and doctoral studies, to treatment adherence in cystic fibrosis, smoking cessation in people with heart disease, patient-physician concordance, weight reduction in obese asthmatics, and barriers/facilitators to temperature management during surgery, as a postdoctoral fellow. In this second postdoctoral fellowship in knowledge translation funded by the Rick Hansen Institute, she is looking forward to helping advance research to improve the lives of people with spinal cord injuries.
