Justin M. Richner PhD

Dr. Richner completed his Ph.D. in Microbiology from the University of California Berkeley where he investigated viral pathogenesis and the molecular biology of herpesviruses. He continued his training as a postdoctoral fellow at Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine, where he studied the host immune response to various RNA viruses including West Nile virus, Japanese Encephalitis virus, and Dengue viruses, as well as the recently emerged Chikungunya and Zika viruses. Dr. Richner’s research has included the development of antiviral vaccines and therapeutics in small animal models to combat these viruses, and he has authored over 20 peer-reviewed manuscripts.
