Dr. Justin Belsky completed his Emergency Medicine Residency at Henry Ford Hospital, followed by a Research Fellowship studying sepsis at Massachusetts General Hospital. His research focus is on the early identification and treatment of sepsis and other infectious diseases in the Emergency Department through clinical trials, biomarkers, diagnostics, and risk stratification tools. Dr. Belsky served as the Yale site principal investigator for the clinical trial VICTAS, which is a multicenter study comparing the efficacy of Vitamin C, Thiamine, and Hydrocortisone in patients with septic shock, as well as other sepsis-related trials.
He is actively engaged in the Emergency Department research efforts, serving as the Director of Research Training as well as the Co-Director of Residency Research. Dr. Belsky is also the co-director of the Yale Emergency Medicine Specimen Biobank. The biobank's goal is to serve as a biorepository of samples on time-sensitive and critically ill disease processes that can be later used for research (such as stroke, MI, sepsis, cardiac arrest).
