Dr. Razzak is a Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine and director of Tele-Emergency Medicine Program at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in US. Following his emergency medicine residency at the Yale New Haven Hospital, Dr. Razzak worked at Yale University and at, Emory University. He recently worked as the Founding Chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine and Director, World Health Organization Collaborating Center at the Aga Khan University in Karachi, Pakistan. He led the development of Emergency Medicine in Pakistan. He also established Pakistan's first advanced life support ambulance service and served as the CEO of Aman Healthcare Services providing emergency and community based care to urban poor in Karachi. Dr. Razzak is a Diplomat of the American Board of Emergency Medicine and has a PhD in Public Health from Karolinska Institute in Sweden. Dr. Razzak’s current research focus is implementing and measuring health system innovations for enhancing access to emergency and non-emergency health care for vulnerable populations especially in the low and middle income countries. Previously he has worked on creating data systems for low resourced health systems around injuries, trauma and EMS.
