Juma Bridgewater is a Scientist III in the Analytical and Pharmaceutical Sciences group at ImmunoGen,
Inc. He supports all aspects of antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) development at ImmunoGen, Inc. This
includes the development, characterization and manufacture of antibody and cytotoxic intermediates, ADC
drug substance and drug product. Juma specializes in the control of the manufacture of cytotoxic
compounds, the characterization of drug intermediates, development of specifications and control of
impurities in ADC drug substance. He has experience in small molecule compounds and ADCs in
development and the preformulation of new chemical and biological entities in early development. Juma
has extensive experience in the development and transfer of HPLC and GC assays as well as the
development of novel HPLC-MS and oxidation chemistry based assays for characterization of proteins and
small molecules.
Juma worked at Vertex Pharmaceuticals and Abbott Laboratories (now AbbVie) prior to joining
ImmunoGen, Inc. Juma received his PhD from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst and MS and BS
degrees from the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine, Trinidad.
