Julie Whittington MD

Dr. Julie Whittington, MD is a Program Director for the Gynecologic Surgery and Obstetrics Residency at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth. Dr. Whittington received her B.S. in Biology at Texas A&M University and obtained her M.D. from the Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine in College Station, Texas. Following her Residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, Dr. Whittington completed her Fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. Her research interests include telemedicine in high-risk obstetrics, amniotic fluid volume, fetal neurodevelopment, placenta accreta, and shoulder dystocia management. She has been on Active Duty in the US Navy for 12 years.
