Julie C. Lauffenburger, PharmD, PhD, is an Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and an epidemiologist (Lead Investigator) in the Division of Pharmacoepidemiology and Pharmacoeconomics at Brigham and Women's Hospital. Her work focuses on medication optimization and adherence in chronic diseases, where she has expertise in pragmatic trials, observational study designs, and predictive analytics. Additional areas of interest include developing and evaluating scalable behavioral interventions to improve healthcare delivery, especially using technology and Health IT. She is currently a Principal Investigator of several projects from the NIH and is an Associate Editor (Technical Editor and Scientific Communications Liaison) for Circulation: Cardiovascular Quality and Outcomes.

At the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, she is an Associate Professor in the Department of Epidemiology and directs the Epidemiologic Methods in Health Services Research Course (EPI235). Dr. Lauffenburger is also the Assistant Director of the Center for Healthcare Delivery Sciences and a practicing pharmacist at the Brigham and Women's Hospital. Dr. Lauffenburger completed her Ph.D. at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her PharmD from the University of Pittsburgh.
