Dr. Julie Pfeiffer is a Professor of Microbiology at UT Southwestern. She received a B.A. in Microbiology from Miami University (1996) and a Ph.D. in Microbiology from the University of Michigan (2001). She performed postdoctoral research at Stanford University (2001-2005). In 2006, Dr. Pfeiffer started her independent laboratory at UT Southwestern with a focus on RNA virus evolution and pathogenesis. Her recent interests include examining the impact of intestinal bacteria on enteric virus infections. Dr. Pfeiffer’s honors include a Pew Scholar Award, a Burroughs Wellcome Fund Investigator of the Pathogenesis of Infectious Disease Award, and an HHMI Faculty Scholar award.
