Julie Hall-Barrow, EdD, has been a leader in the field of education, health promotion, and telemedicine for the past 17 years. She is currently serving as Immediate Past Chair of the American Telemedicine Association – Pediatric Special Interest Group and vice president of Virtual Health and Innovation. This year Julie was named one of the most powerful women in Healthcare IT. Previously, she was the senior director of health innovation and telehealth and director of education for the Center for Distance Health in Arkansas, where she managed all areas of the educational programs and provided training, communications, and resources to networks across the state. She led the largest state supported tele-stroke program in the country. In addition, she coordinated all pediatric telemedicine activities at Arkansas Children’s Hospital and the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. She also served as the state's director of rural health. She has published in peer-reviewed journals in the areas of health promotion, wellness, occupational health, and telemedicine. She is a national and international speaker that has provided administrative guidance to a number of health centers, clinicians, and administrators.
