Julie Arthur

Julie Arthur is the Midwifery Director for Hawkes Bay DHB maternity services and Chair of theHBDHB Midwifery Leaders group. She has national, regional and local responsibilities for professional strategic leadership,advice and support to maternity services and midwives and is responsible for ensuring effective and efficient operational provision of care that is woman and whānau focused. She actively seeks to further develop maternity services in a collaborative manner to meet the needs of the population, enable equity and support best practice. She has been integral to the development of New Zealand’s first alongside midwifery-led birth centre, ‘Waioha’.
