Julian Rivera BS, JD

Julian has worked in the healthcare and life sciences industry for more than 30 years. Of that time, Julian has served as a lawyer for more than 20 years. He represents healthcare providers and healthcare technology companies on a wide range of regulatory compliance, operations, transactions, litigation and business matters. Julian also advises clients on strategic solutions and opportunities in this highly regulated environment. Julian’s work includes defending providers in state provider license and federal health program cases. His clients seek his help on maximizing healthcare provider opportunities and navigating FDA regulation.

Julian’s clients include physicians, allied health providers, pharmacies, hospitals, healthcare systems and healthcare technology companies. He has deep experience representing healthcare enterprise providers on a wide range of issues including medical staff, pharmacy and hospital operations as examples. Julian has extensive experience representing clients on matters involving healthcare technology including emerging technologies with big data, artificial intelligence, telemedicine and telehealth as examples.

Before attending law school at the Texas Tech University School of Law, he received his Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Houston and did research in immunology, cell biology and genetics at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center and the Baylor College of Medicine. After receiving his law degree, Julian clerked for the Texas Court of Appeals Amarillo and then worked for the Texas Medical Board before entering private practice. His professional work has been published and quoted in scientific, medical and legal media. He is a frequent speaker on a broad range of medical-legal topics. Julian also serves as a facilitator in medical, legal and community forums.
