As a Head of the School of Nursing, she has strategic responsibility for the leadership and management of the School of Nursing and for ensuring excellence in education across the fields of adult, mental health, learning disability, and children's nursing. She has extensive experience in leading the development and delivery of pre-registration nursing and developing sustainable models of education to meet student and workforce needs. She also has extensive experience in preparing tenders for new businesses and enterprises and has won a number of high-profile contracts both nationally and internationally. Her experience also extends to the chairing of validation events and internal quality audits within and across two parent universities. Her role interfaces with the NHS, Strategic Health Authorities, national professional bodies, and the national arena for nursing. She is a senior member of the Faculty Management Group, an appointed Governor for Kingston Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, and an Aurora Role Model for the Leadership Foundation for Higher Education. As an active researcher, her most recent research has included a Health Education South London-funded project as part of Health Education London on Adult Nurse Turnover and Retention: South London and a project looking at student nurses' maths anxiety.
