Dr. Judy Boughey, M.D., is a breast surgical oncologist. She is the division chair of Breast and Melanoma Surgical Oncology and the Breast Cancer Disease Group chair at Mayo Clinic. She has a passion for advancing the care of patients diagnosed with breast cancer and women at high risk for future breast cancer. Her practice philosophy focuses on patient-centered care to provide the best possible oncologic outcomes with excellent aesthetics while respecting patients' needs and preferences.

Dr. Boughey earned her medical degree from the University of Cambridge in Cambridge, United Kingdom. She completed her residency at the University of South Carolina and her breast surgery fellowship at the University of Texas, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. In addition to her clinical activities, Dr. Boughey leads multiple clinical trials in breast cancer care, focused on safely de-escalating breast cancer management and individualizing care. She is active nationally and internationally in specialty societies and is a fellow of the American Surgical Association. She is the W.H. Odell Professor in Individualized Medicine. She is the Chair of the American College of Surgeons Cancer Research Program and Past President of the American Society of Breast Surgeons.
