Redwing Keyssar is currently the Director of Patient and Caregiver Education at the UCSF Center for Education in Palliative Care (CEPC). She served as Director of a unique community-based Palliative Care program at Jewish Family and Children’s Services from 2007-2018, where she trained hundreds of community members to be "Palliative Care Volunteers" for people with serious illness. Redwing continues as an adjunct faculty member of the California State University Institute of Palliative Care, which she helped found in 2012. She works privately as a Palliative Care consult and Death Doula. In 2015 she was the recipient of the Individual Leadership in Palliative Care award from the Coalition for Compassionate Care of California, and in March 2019, she received the AAHPM Humanities Award, for her creative work using poetry as a healing modality with patients and clinicians.
