Judith Gibbons, Professor Emerita of Psychology at Saint Louis University, received her doctorate in physiological psychology from Carnegie-Mellon University in 1976. She was a post-doctoral fellow at both Einstein College of Medicine and Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. In 1979 she started a faculty position at Saint Louis University where she served for 35 years, gradually shifting her teaching and research to developmental psychology, especially international studies of adolescents. She is the founding editor of the American Psychological Association Division 52 journal International Perspectives in Psychology: Research, Practice, Consultation, an associate editor of the Journal of Cross-Cultural Psychology, a former president of the Interamerican Society of Psychology (SIP) and the Society for Cross-Cultural Research, and a former Fulbright scholar at the Universidad del Valle de Guatemala.
