Dr. Jude Ehiabhi Okohue is an Obstetrician Gynaecologist, Medical Director at Gynescope Specialist Hospital in Nigeria. He obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery certificate in 1996 from the University of Benin Teaching Hospital, from 1999 to 2004. Dr. Okohue is currently a fellow of the West African College of Surgeons, the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria, and the International College of Surgeons. He equally holds a certificate in an ultrasound scan and a Bachelor/Diploma in Minimal Access Surgery obtained from the Laparoscopy Hospital and the European Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy (ESGE). He obtained his MBBS degree in 1997. He holds Fellowships at both the National and West African Colleges, in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. He is a Professor at the Madonna University.
Dr. Okohue has won numerous awards including Best West African schools’ certificate result in 1988; Best registrar in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 2001; young scientists’ award at the Society of Gynaecology and Obstetrics of Nigeria (SOGON) conference in 2007; first Nigerian recipient of the Danish Society of Obstetrics and Gynaecology/SOGON twinning programme in 2010; Best team at the Winner’s suturing challenge in Budapest in 2015.
Dr Okohue has been involved in the training of Gynaecologists in the field of endoscopy, especially Hysteroscopy in the west African subregion. He has published numerous academic papers including textbooks in the field of IVF and MAS. He currently operates one of the biggest IVF/MAS units in Africa (Gynescope Specialist Hospital) and lectures in one of the private universities in Nigeria. He is the current editor of the official journal of the Association of Gynecological Endoscopy Surgeons.
