Juandy Jo graduated as a general practitioner from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Gadjah Mada, Yogyakarta-Indonesia in 2003. Shortly afterward, he was awarded a scholarship by the Australian Development Scholarship to pursue a postgraduate study at the University of Queensland, Brisbane-Australia. He chose to study Molecular Biology and graduated with a Master degree in 2005. Following his passion in research, he performed his doctoral study at the Spemann Graduate School of Biology and Medicine, Albert-Ludwig University of Freiburg, Freiburg- Germany, with a full scholarship from the DFG.
He studied T-cell responses against chronic hepatitis C at the laboratory of Prof. Robert Thimme and awarded with a degree of Doctor rerum Naturalium in 2010. Juandy subsequently worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the laboratory of Prof. Antonio Bertoletti at the SICSA* STAR, Singapore, focusing on how to reactivate hepatic T-cell responses during chronic hepatitis. Following the completion of his fellowship in 2013, he joined Danone Nutricia Research, Singapore, as an Immunology Scientist, focusing on allergy and gut immunology. His current role is as a Team Leader for Science Analytical Team of Danone Nutricia Research.
