Juan Corrales MD, PhD

Juan Antonio Marchal Corrales is a Professor of Human Anatomy and Embryology at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Granada (UGR). He is responsible for the PAIDI CTS-963 research group: Differentiation, Regeneration and Cancer, and director of the Dres Chair. He is a Master of Research in Cancer Stem Cells and the Official Master's Degree in Translational Research and Personalized Medicine at the UGR. He graduated in Medicine in Surgery in 1992 and obtained the degree with an outstanding grade from the University of Granada. She defended her doctoral thesis in 1996, which was awarded an Extraordinary Prize.

Juan has been a professor at three universities in different teaching categories. He has spent his stay at the University of Sassari (Italy) and as a visiting professor at the University of Guadalajara (Mexico). He is co-founder of the EBT Regemat 3D and the Spin-off PKR-Exogenetics SL and scientific advisor to Propanc Health Group Corporation. He has been a Corresponding Academic of the Royal Academy of Medicine and Surgery of the District of Granada since 2006 and has been the coordinator of two doctoral programs with Quality Mention, two Official Master's Degrees, and a Diploma of Specialization in Precision Medicine and Translational Research in Health Sciences from the UGR.

Juan is an evaluator of Biomedical and Health Sciences research projects of the Ministry of Equality, Health, and Social Policies, Junta de Andalucía, the Dutch Cancer Society (Holland), the Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research (NWO), the National Science Center (Narodowe Centrum Nauki – Poland), the Dutch Heart Foundation, the National Agency for Scientific and Technological Promotion (Argentina) and 44 high-impact international journals.

Juan is a member of the Postgraduate Advisory Council of the International Graduate School of the University of Granada, member of the permanent commission of the Scientific Council and Area Coordinator of the Biosanitary Research Institute of Granada (ibs. GRANADA), member of the Board of Researchers of the Biomedical Research Center and the Governing Board of the Institute of Biopathology and Regenerative Medicine (IBIMER). In addition, he is the director of the research line of the academic commission of the Doctorate in Biomedicine of the UGR and guarantor and founder of the Modeling Nature Unit of Excellence: From Nano to Macro (MNat) of the University of Granada.
