Dr. Joslyn Kirby, Vice Chair for Education for the Department of Dermatology at Penn State, is a dermatologist and physician-scientist whose research has focused on value, including variation in care, costs, and outcomes, and hidradenitis. Dr. Kirby’s research related to HS included health services research of utilization and costs, coping and resilience and research of novel outcome measures.
Dr. Kirby has been an investigator on several clinical trials, both industry-sponsored and investigator-initiated. She is an active educator at all levels of medical education. She is the course director for dermatology education for pre-clinical medical students, oversees the clerkship for the clinical dermatology elective, is the program director for the dermatology residency, and is an active speaker at numerous national and international medical educational meetings.
