Dr. Joshua Benjamin Goldberg, MD, is the Director of Cardiac Surgery Outcomes Research at Westchester Medical Center. Dr. Goldberg, a former NCAA All-American swimmer, received his medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where he earned a degree with distinction in cardiac surgery research. He completed his general surgery residency at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center and his cardiothoracic surgery training at The Massachusetts General Hospital and Boston Children’s Hospital of Harvard. While practicing a broad spectrum of cardiothoracic surgery, Dr. Goldberg’s particular clinical interests include aortic surgery, including endovascular therapies (TEVAR); complex valvular heart disease, including minimally invasive valve repairs and transcatheter aortic (TAVR) and mitral (MitraClip) valve procedures; complex coronary revascularization; surgical management of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy; and surgical treatments for thromboembolic pulmonary disease.
Dr. Goldberg is regarded as an expert in cardiac surgery safety and quality. He speaks nationally and internationally and is a leader in key national and international societies focused on improving patient outcomes. He has published numerous book chapters and peer-reviewed journal articles.
