Joshua S. Botdorf DO, FACP, CMQ

Dr. Joshua S. Botdorf, DO, FACP, CMQ, is an Associate Professor at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, where he also serves as ICU Medical Director. A board-certified internist and critical care specialist, Dr. Botdorf provides comprehensive care for critically ill patients, with expertise spanning internal medicine, nephrology, critical care, and neurocritical care.

Dr. Botdorf earned his Doctor of Osteopathy degree from A. T. Still University in 2006, after completing a Bachelor of Science in Nutritional Sciences with minors in Chemistry and Biology at the University of Missouri. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at the University of Missouri, followed by a Nephrology fellowship at the same institution. He then pursued advanced fellowship training in Critical Care Medicine at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and additional fellowship training in Neurocritical Care at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston.

He holds multiple board certifications, including Internal Medicine, Nephrology, and Critical Care Medicine from the American Board of Internal Medicine; Neurocritical Care from the United Council for Neurologic Subspecialties; and certification from the American Board of Medical Quality. He is also certified in Critical Care Echocardiography by the National Board of Echocardiography and is a Specialist in Clinical Hypertension through the American Society of Hypertension. A Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP) and a Certified Medical Quality professional (CMQ), Dr. Botdorf is dedicated to advancing high-quality, evidence-based care, clinical leadership, and quality improvement initiatives within the intensive care setting.
