Dr. Lillo has been practicing as a physician and surgeon at Scottsdale Family Health since 2002. He is also an assistant professor of Family Medicine at Midwestern University in Glendale, Arizona, as well as senior Physician Investigator at Elite Clinical Studies in Phoenix, Arizona. In 1979, Dr. Lillo received his Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine from the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery in Kirksville, Missouri. He then completed an internship at Phoenix General Hospital and started to practice Family Medicine in Scottsdale in 1980. Additionally, Dr. Lillo has achieved the status of a Fellow of the National Lipid Association and is a Certified Physician Investigator by the Association of Clinical Research Professionals.

Dr. Lillo has published multiple articles in peer-reviewed medical journals on obesity, lipid disorders, and evidence-based medicine. He has lectured nationally on a wide variety of family practice topics, primarily in the cardiometabolic area. He continues ongoing pharmacologic research in phase II and III FDA trials of novel compounds as Principal Investigator at Elite Clinical Studies. Areas of research include hypertension, dyslipidemia, diabetes, osteoarthritis, COPD, functional bowel disorders, and migraine.
