Joseph L. Shaker MD

Dr. Shaker is one of six physicians joining the Medical College’s full-time faculty who was previously a member of Midwest Endocrinology Associates, the only private practice in Wisconsin to ever be recognized in the nation’s top 50 endocrinology departments by U.S. News & World Report.

He comes to the Medical College from Idaho Endocrinology and Boise State University, where he served as a staff endocrinologist and adjunct professor of biology since 2007. Prior to that appointment, he was at the Endocrine and Diabetes Center of St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee for 20 years and was chairman of the section of endocrinology and metabolism at St. Luke’s from 1999 to 2007.

Dr. Shaker was a clinical professor of medicine at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine for four years and is a co-founder of the Wisconsin Bone Club, an annual two-day meeting that features speakers and attendees in the fields of endocrinology and rheumatology in addition to other specialists interested in bone and calcium disorders.
