Joseph is a recognised expert in DC Professor Dias has 15 publications on the topic, chaired many panels and symposia and helped organise the International Conference on Dupuytren Disease and Related Disorders in the Netherlands in May 2015. He is an Advisory Board member of the International Dupuytren Society.
He is CI and PI for different NIHR HTA studies. His roles have included: inception, development, grant application, developing and managing a research network, data collection and analyses, and writing reports for publication.
As President of The British Society for Surgery of the Hand (BSSH) (08/09), and President of the British Orthopaedic Association (11/12), Dr Dias developed the national strategy to promote musculoskeletal research (National Research Strategy for T&O 2012). Advisor National Institute of Clinical Excellence on Hand Surgery and Orthopaedic Surgery since 2004.
He has lectured (57) & chaired (27) at National and International meetings e.g. IFSSH and FESSH meetings. Professor Dias gave 11 orations, some as Visiting Professor, in South Africa, India, Europe, Canada and USA in the last few years. He supervises MRes, BSc, MD and PhD students.
