Joseph Ciccolini PharmD, PhD

Dr. Joseph Ciccolini, Pharm.D. Ph.D. is a Professor of Pharmacokinetics at Aix Marseille University and Clinical Pharmacologist at La Timone University Hospital of Marseille, France. Dr. Ciccolini is the group leader of the SMARTc research unit and the head of the Master's Degree in Pharmacokinetics at Aix Marseille University. Dr. Ciccolini's expertise in clinics is mostly based on controlling the pharmacokinetics variability of anticancer agents, ranging from cytotoxics to targeted therapies and biotherapies, in a variety of settings. In particular, Dr. Ciccolini has contributed to developing adaptive dosing strategies, including pharmacogenetic-based dosing algorithms, as a means to secure the administration of several nucleoside analogs. Dr. Ciccolini's current work focuses on developing therapeutic drug monitoring associated with adaptive dosing strategies with biologics, including immune checkpoint inhibitors. Dr. Ciccolini has P.I.'ed or co-P.I.'ed several clinical trials investigating the pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and pharmacogenetics of a variety of anticancer drugs has co-authored more than 120 international papers and owns several patents in the field. Joseph Ciccolini is the current chair of the French GPCO-Unicancer Society and the board member of the PAMM-EORTC group dedicated to pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics.
