Josep Maria Cruzado MD, PhD

Josep M Cruzado, MD, Ph.D. is chief of the Department of Nephrology and Renal Transplantation, Hospital de Bellvitge in Barcelona, Spain, and Associate Professor of Nephrology at Universitat de Barcelona. He has published over 190 articles in peer-reviewed medical journals. Dr. Cruzado was the Research Coordinator of the Spanish Society of Nephrology from 2008 until 2014 as well as the Coordinator of the Spanish Renal Transplantation Working Group from 2012 to 2014.

Dr. Josep Maria Cruzado is currently President of the Research Committee at Bellvitge Hospital, Council Member of the Catalan Transplantation Society, President of the Catalan Society of Nephrology, and Board Member of the ERA-EDTA scientific working group Diabesity. Since 2015, he also served as Associate Editor in the American Journal of Transplantation and Clinical Kidney Journal. His research interests focus on renal transplantation, kidney regeneration, and diabetic kidney disease.
