Jose Alfredo Pineda MD, MS, MSCI, MSc

Dr. Pineda’s research focus is traumatic brain injury in children. Traumatic brain injury is a leading cause of death in disability in children. While his expertise and efforts concentrate on improving care for critically ill children with traumatic brain injury, Dr. Pineda is also interested in injury prevention and post-injury rehabilitation. Dr. Pineda values collaboration with investigators and care providers involved in injury prevention, pre-hospital care, rehabilitation, and long-term follow-up. His current efforts include an Identification of therapeutic targets and new treatments for brain injury and, Implementation and dissemination of best clinical practices in the intensive care unit. These efforts include outcome measurements after hospital discharge.
